News-related Sites

Most of these sites also offer free email summaries

      a) Indiaworld : This site contains breaking stories (updated twice daily) from some of India's leading dailies. It also hosts the home pages of quite a few Indian cos., organises chats with famous personalities, etc. Most commonly used services are free, but if you want really specific info, you will have to subscribe to it. A yearly subscription costs US$ 20 (approx.Rs.700). The daily news updates can, however, be received free of cost through email. If you would like to subscribe, send an email message to listserv@indiaworld.com, with the phrase "subscribe headlines" (without the quotes) in the body of the message.

      b) Indiaserver : This is a similar site to Indiaworld, but there is no paid subscription funda here, and there is a wealth of India-related info available here. This is a better site for the serious info-seeker than Indiaworld. You can also receive for free the frront page briefs from both The Hindu and Business Line via electronic mail on a daily basis. To subscribe to this service, click here.

      c) The Economist : Needs no introduction. The surprising thing is, this page offers free subscription to The Economist Politics This Week and Business This Week summaries by e-mail.To subscribe, click here.

There is also a newsletter which you can subscribe to free of cost, which updates you on the latest additions to the site, and believe me, there is a lot of interesting stuff going on here.
